Digital Architect - Terragen

Terragen
Here you can find all the work that I've made with Terragen.
It is a nifty program which is capable of rendering very realistic scenery. The goal of the program is generating photorealistic
landscape images and animations. And the best thing is that it's free for personal use :)
Of each scenery there might be different versions available. To view one, click on the thumbnail to
see a larger version of it. This larger version is a picture at a resolution of 640*480. Click the link underneath a thumbnail (if
there is a link) to see an even larger version of it, namely pictures at a resolution of 1280*960 (unless otherwise stated).
NOTE: New work is added at the top.
Terragen 2 Technology Preview
|
The Terragen 2 Technology Preview was released on December 15th 2006. Even though it's not final, it gives an impression of what the final product will be capable off, and that's a lot.
More test-renders
Released: 12th January 2007
|
| Here are some more test-renders I made. Both are set in a snowy mountain environment. I was testing out the ability to create stones and rocks.

Some first test-renders
Released: 6th January 2007
|
| These are some first test-renders I made with the Terragen 2 Technology Preview. They are not that great, but show some of the new features available. Instancing of trees is for example shown in the third shot, while the use of stratas and outcrops is shown in the fourth and fifth shots.
There are no high-res versions available.

Terragen 0.9x has been around for a long time. The renders below are all done with it.
Desert 1
Released: 8th June 2004
|
| This is an attempt towards creating a realistic looking desert. It turned out ok so I uploaded it :)
The second version contains a bit more hills in the middle at the front, which I thought might be nice as well.
|
High up in the mountains 1
Released: 5th June 2004
|
| My latest work is set high up in the mountains. The mountains are covered with snow and a low standing sun is casting
nice light and shadow contrasts.
The second version is basically the same view, but I added in some water with ice. The third version is one with
only the water, as the ice in the second version doesn't look that realistic.

Mountains 1
Released: 4th June 2004
|
| A new work. This picture originated while messing around with Waterworks (you can find a link on the
Other Links page). In this case I was trying things with the Sorta Surf Multi plugin which allows
you to create multiple lines of surf.
It turned out quite nicely in my opinion, so I uploaded it.
|
SeaView 1
Released: 3th June 2004
|
| This is my second work in Terragen. It's a seaview which I think turned out nicely. Only one version of this is available at the
moment. New versions might follow in the future.
The second version doesn't have a high-res version. Only the 640*480 is available. This second version has a couple sunrays. I
was messing around trying to get some and this is what I came up with. Sunrays aren't easy to get apparantly :)

Canyon 1
Released: 3th June 2004
|
| After having messed around a bit with Terragen every now and then, I recently got back into this program.
Below you can find my first real result. I'm quite satisfied with it, but I've got a lot to learn :)
Anyway, there are 3 different versions of the same canyon. Each version has a different atmosphere about it. I hope
you like them :)
